Finally! A news story today announced that the book Pop Culture Mom by Lynne Spears (mother of Britney Spears) has been "indefinitely postponed".

When I first heard about the book, the reporting said it was slanted toward being a "how to" on raising a Christian child in today's culture of loose morals and poor values. This was while Britney was shaving her head, partying all the time, and having her kids taken away.

My main thought was "after the mental and moral meltdown that is Britney, who the f**k is going to consider Lynne Spears an expert on raising a child, much less a 'Christian' one?" But apparently, with Britney's little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, still on the straight and narrow and a success with her Nickelodeon TV show, going one-for-two was enough for her publisher to stick by her.

Then, yesterday, it came out that Britney Spears 16-year-old sister is pregnant by the 19-year-old boyfriend she met at church. About the only thing "Christian" about the whole scenario is that she's not going to have a quickie abortion and go on with her career. She's having and keeping the baby.

And finally the publisher of Lynne Spears' book decided they'd had enough, and they were not going to publish a parenting book by this maternal apocalypse. And somewhere, the guys who write Jay Leno's monologue for "The Tonight Show" are tearing their hair out and screaming "why did this have to happen while we were on strike?!"
