A Spammy New Year
Jan 1st, 2008 by Greg Bulmash
To sort of set my new year in motion on the right foot, I decided to put in an hour before bed learning how to make Facebook applications. Basically, I wanted to set a tone of intellectual and professional achievement for the year.
Of course, that meant being online, and of course checking my mail. And the first mail of the year... spam. The second mail of the year... spam. In terms of tone setting, that's not so good.
I even got spam on Christmas. I don't know, but sending porn spam on Jesus's birthday just seems like it should be a mortal sin.
Perhaps the economy will get better in '08. Maybe Bush will get the troops out of Iraq. Maybe the Democrats will win the White House. There are a lot of things up in the air. But the one thing I can be sure of is more spam.
Sigh.
