My Valentines Day Gift To My Wife... Snacks

I've been softening up my wife throughout the week, buying her little just because gifts... some books, some avocados, some of the chocolates I brought her on our first date. Tonight, though, I pull out the big guns... Pastry and booze!

For the pastry, I picked some store-bought French madeleine cookies, because they're one of her favorites. I sliced them open, spread either Nutella or a lemon curd inside, topped it with some seedless raspberry jam, then reattached the halves. I'm serving it with a chilled Cava (a dry, white sparkling wine from Spain), sweetened with a hint of cherry syrup.

I just hope her head doesn't explode.
