Thanks for the heads up, even though I knew it was a scam even coming through the job postings. This past week, I received a check in the mail, another check cashing scam.

Good catch. I got this one and another previously from someone named Joy Barlan with whom I played along Got a check for, as I recall, $3,500, cashier's check on the Bank of New York. Was told to cash it, send some money to one person and keep a certain amount. I immediately called the Bank of New York. They verified that it was a scam and I faxed all the information to them. Don't know what they did with it. But I never cashed the check obviously, because I would have been responsible since it was a fake. Even though it might have taken a few days, obviously the Bank of New York would have caught it and come after me for the money. Anyway, that was a scam that I had pulled on me.

There is an advertisement on a local TV station where I live that sounds just like the same thing. It is for a Cormex textile and it says they are looking for an account representative. You can work from your home and make $400.00 a week. Has any one heard of this company. Is it for real?

Hello! I also recieved an email similar to this only from a Brian Howard. The grammar for such a professional letter seemed fishy to me, so I contacted hotmail about it... and then out of curiosity, I googled the company name to see if it was actually a company somewhere and your site came up! Thanks for the tips!

Hi,
The letter I received just today is a bit shorter than yours, and a different name, but the exact same scam!
(Please note some (minor?) errors that were as obvious as an 8 ball on a white sandy beach!)
c/p follows:

Good Day,
 Would you like to work online from home and get paid weekly? Milton Keynes Textiles LTD needs a book-keeper in the United States,I want to know if you will like to work online from home and get paid weekly without leaving or affecting your present job? This is safe and legal. My company produces various clothing materials,and traditional costumes which we have clients we supply weekly in the states. My clients make payments for our supplies every week in form of payment which are not readily cash able outside the United States, So we need someone in the States to work as our representative and assist us in processing the payments from our clients and I will pay him/her weekly salary. All you need do is receive these payments from our clients in your vicinity and get it cashed then deduct your weekly fee and forward the balance to our respective agents. As soon as we confirm any payment coming to you, I will let you know and I will provide instructions on how to process the
payment. Please forward the follo
Full names
Full contact address( not P. O. Box) to include city, state and
zip code.

@Alexcia,

Until you actually try to cash the check, you have not done anything illegal. Call your local police department and ask to talk to a detective in the fraud division. Tell him or her your story and ask their advice.

Best of luck to you.
