So I was thinking... if God had voicemail, what would He say on His outgoing message?

Now, if you get someone's voicemail, they usually say something like:

  • I can't take your call at the moment...
  • I've temporarily stepped away from my desk or am out of the office...

But, if God is omnipotent (all-powerful, God can do anything), He can take your call at the moment. He can take your call and everyone else's call at any moment, ever. Therefore God wouldn't say "I can't take your call at the moment" on his outgoing voicemail message.

If God is omnipresent (God is everywhere, all places at once), then technically God is never out of the office or away from His desk. God is always at His desk... and everyone else's desk too. Therefore God wouldn't say "I've temporarily stepped away from my desk or am out of the office" on his outgoing voicemail message.

But if God is omnipotent and omnipresent, it begs the question, why would God have voicemail at all. He doesn't need it. I mean, being omnipotent, God could have voicemail if He wanted it, but He's always at his desk and always able to take your call.

So, in answer to the question "What would be God's outgoing voicemail message?"... If God even wanted voicemail, thus having voicemail, and used the voicemail when He wasn't in the mood to take your call, the outgoing message would probably be...

"This is God. You know what to do. Beep."
