George,

You're a dumbass. The Republicans have been shown up as hypocrites.

They just voted against a bill they put earmarks into so they can claim they're anti-pork, knowing the bill would pass anyway. None of them actually took their pork out, so they got to vote against their pork and have it too.

Then, despite crowing about how our defecit is too high, they arm twisted hundreds of billions in tax cuts for the rich we'll have to borrow to pay for. And this is despie thirty years of trickle-down economics expanding the gap between rich and poor, quintupling the national debt (vs letting it grow at the same pace as inflation), and proving IT DOESN'T WORK.

It's Republicans who are voting this country into the trash can.

First, that post is well over a year old.

Second, what does "conservative" MEAN anymore? Anyone who supported Bush and his rampant defecit spending cannot call themselves a conservative. There was nothing conservative about the way Bush ran up the national debt. True "conservativism" is for keeping Government out of our lives, so what do you call all the people who supported the domestic spying programs and expansions of government intrusion into the lives of private citizens under the Patriot Act?

Last, as someone who lost relatives to the Nazis, I take MAJOR offense to you trivializing the evil of fascism by using the term fascist to describe Obama. Until he starts rounding people up into camps and gassing them, using that word to describe him is an insult to EVERYONE Hitler killed and EVERYONE who fought and died to stop him. You are an immature, whiny, little bitch who needs to get a grip and stop comparing people who simply disagree with your political views to the most evil political movement in history.

Just stumbled onto this site, Greg GREAT advice you gave. According a Gallup/USA Today poll released last week "Conservatives have maintained their leading position among U.S. ideological groups in the first half of 2010. Gallup finds 42% of Americans describing themselves as either very conservative or conservative. This is up slightly from the 40% seen for all of 2009 and contrasts with the 20% calling themselves liberal or very liberal."

"The ideological orientation of Americans seen thus far in 2010 would represent a record-high level of conservatism (since at least 1992) if it is maintained for the full year. This follows an increase in the percentage of conservatives in 2009 that was fueled by heightened conservatism among independents, a pattern that continues today."

I guess that when the president is a fascist the joke is on you, but we're all suffering.

From a free-thinking Republican:
Yes, you are right - the Republican Party HAS lost its way. This is not due to Limbaugh or conservative talk radio. If this were the case, I would think the Dems wouldn't want to shut him up with their so-called "Fairness Doctrine" - it would be to their advantage to let them talk themselves out of their constituency. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, etc. are already losing MAJOR ground because their idea of "change" does not correspond with the majority of Americans. The same could be said about the Repubs, as they are abandoning the core issues of their Party. What makes America great is that, besides all of the ignorant propaganda on BOTH sides, the Left and the Right can balance each other out. What kind of free country would this be if only one set of ideas prevailed? Not free at all. I would like to see all of the name-calling & bashing of the opposite party stop and for Congress to work in a TRULY bi-partisan spirit of cooperation for the good of the country. But alas, the masses are only following the lead of the elitist, elected officials who are spewing racial hate, class warfare, and division along party lines. How can we as a nation hope to overcome our problems if we can't learn to play nice? (that is what most people teach 3-4 year olds) Your party's leaders are no better than mine, mine are no better than yours - they are all crooks out for their own benefit and power. (How can you tell when a politician is lying? His lips are moving) That goes for ALL of them - no exceptions. Maybe what America needs is for the Independent Party to take control, as it represents a better compromise of ideals from the other two.
And you, Mr. Bulmash, are part of the problem. Your article CLEARLY reflects your disdain for the Republican Party (which does not offend me, it makes me feel sorry for you) by your hopes of seeing it "crash & burn". I wish no such thing for the Democratic Party, for without it the extreme right would prevail, which would not be any better than the extreme left dictating policy. If all Americans loved their country as much as - or more - than their individual beliefs, some good might finally come of this mess we are ALL in together. It's time for America to realize that the ENTIRE GOVERNMENT is responsible for it - not just one particular party. I think they ALL should be replaced every four years - mandatory. That would stop 90% of the corrupt buddy system of Washington.
While I am not (of course) fond of Obama's ideas for change, or Obama in general, I wish him nothing but success - for first and foremost I am AN AMERICAN, and I love my country and wish nothing more than for it to become the great, prosperous nation I know it can continue to be.

And by the way, don't take it so personal that people tell jokes about Obama (just because he happens to be your choice). It's not "Republican hype" - we already lost the election - it's JUST A JOKE. I'm sure you were laughing your a__ off for eight years when W was president - I know I was. It's the right - no, the duty - of every American to exercise their right of freedom of expression, tasteless as some of the jokes may be, and make fun of our leaders - another thing that makes this country great. Try doing that anywhere else in the world. If you have a problem with humor just because he happens to be your candidate, then you, sir, are a sore winner.

just my opinion,

I meant to click on this the other day, but got sidetracked. I have some friends who have sent me such things (and occasionally, they are funny) for years, and though there is never any shortage of words and thoughts in my brain, this is so well-written that I just might link them to it instead for the more ridiculous (and unfunny) ones. The e-mails and comments that really annoy me (besides the blatantly bigoted comment-laced ones) are the ones that are simply parroted from the mouths of the pundits/spin doctors (which can go "both" ways), instead of someone using their own thought process to state what they're unhappy with.

Nice work, Greg.
