After a bit of a marathon writing session last night and today, I finally wrote "The End" at the bottom of the last page of Hell on $5 a Day. That's just a rough draft of "The End" and it will likely get polished, tweaked, and fiddled with between now and when it gets published here. But I did it. I got to the last scene, wrote it, and wrote "The End" below it.
I think there may be a bit too much exposition at the end, and I'm thinking of how I can show instead of tell some of the things. It's just saying all the goodbyes, sending so many characters off into the wild blue yonder, and answering some nagging questions. Well, at least I identified who had to be said goodbye to, and how, and what questions needed to be answered, and took a first whack at doing it.
The chapter count is pretty much set now at 39, though 39 is a brief epilogue. If all goes as planned, Chapter 38 will run on Thursday, April 9th, and 39 will run on Friday, April 10th.
