Same sex marriage is between two people only, both of whom have equal rights and equal responsibilies. Polygamy involves one man enjoying a sex fest with many women who are all supposed to stay faithful to him, and where only the first, legal wife and her children have any legal rights, while the other women and their children (merely concubines in the man's harem) have no legal rights whatsoever. The imbalance is obvious. Polygamy comes from the dark ages when women were considered chattels to be collected like cows in a barn, waiting to be serviced by the bull. There is no comparison with homosexual marriage. Polgyamy should have been kicked into the garbage can of history eons ago. The year is 2012 AD, not 2012 BC!

In a free and equal society, any legalization of polygamy would have to be accompanied by the legalization of polyandry. In places like China and India, where they have been thwarting nature's balance between the sexes, creating an oversupply of males, they're going to have to promote homosexuality, polyandry, or emigration to deal with all the men who can't find a female partner.
But I think you missed the point of this joke or you're just going around, posting anti-polygamy boilerplate on any blog that mentions the ludicrous slippery slope argument the conservatives are trying to make.
