To generate some buzz about the Palm Pre, Palm is doing a new program called Real Reviewers. A number of regular people who blog and use social networks will be selected to receive a free Pre and a free 6-month voice and data plan so they can blog about their experiences with their Pre.
My current 2-year contract with Sprint is coming to an end in about 5-6 weeks and if I can talk my wife into letting me squander a few bucks, I'm seriously considering a new smart phone. The iPhone 3.0 is supposed to debut sometime this summer, as is the Pre. I'm "hot" for both, though I really prefer a real keyboard, not an onscreen one. So the Pre has a slight edge, though I really want to get both in my hot little hands for a test drive before I pick one.
Of course, if Palm gives me a Pre, the iPhone can suck it. I've filled out the application for the Real Reviewers program. We'll see what happens.

I'm hoping for this too... I need a smartphone for my new business, but don't want to buy anything now, because the Pre is so close! For the next few weeks I'm going to be gimping by with my daughter's phone, which is just making the Pre look even better!
