A certain cable channel apparently does not want to be my friend any more, telling me that "sci-fi" is too geeky and going by the more "hip" and brandable "SyFy". Well, I believe that "Sy" is a nickname and nicknames are only used by friends, so I'll be using the more formal version of its name in all future reference to it... Sidney Fy.

I enjoy a good mocking - thanks for the invite (and I still loved your other post about it). And I agree - maybe it's because I'm resistant to change, but "SciFi" sounds great, while SyFy sounds like they are taking the Family Guy/manatees approach to picking something new and "trendy".
